Peter Kosminsky, director of 15: The Life and Death of Philip Knight (9pm ITV), on drama documentary production: 'It's treated as a documentary, so we are governed by the same rules as factual programmes; this means extensive research, a thorough and long-winded process. And we get very closely supervised by lawyers.
'You have to be very careful where the characters are still alive with their real names. If, as here, a child has died in your care, there are people - social workers in particular - who are going to be sensitive that they are not in any way implicated. They all co-operated - they formed our 60-70 interviewees - we negotiated for their support and co-operation.' See Briefing
