CHANCES are rare to hear Berlioz's Symphonie funebre et triomphale, the massive and splendid piece he wrote for bands on the march to a military memorial ceremony. If anyone can get the forces together it has to be the British Association of Symphonic Bands and Wind Ensembles, whose members just happen to be sharing a conference with the European String Teachers Association today - the 150th anniversary of the premiere of Berlioz's even bigger version with strings and chorus. The combined forces may not exactly look authentic, being seated indoors. But they are due to deliver, rain or shine, at the end of tonight's concert at the University of Warwick (starts 6.30pm: box office 0203 524524).
