WHATEVER the National Curriculum might have done for music, there could be a chance to make up for some of its practical shortcomings by way of a new BBC2 daytime series. Mad About Music, designed to 'inspire young people to make their own music', is aimed at the 11-to-14 age group and sets out to develop skills and show common ground between different kinds of music - from Omar to Reich. It runs on Monday mornings from this week.
