Upbeat: Thinking big
A COUP for the London-based Amici di Verdi, a five-year-old enthusiasts' group: they have persuaded Luciano Pavarotti to give a master class at the Bloomsbury Theatre on 15 September. The trick is personal contact, Amici founder Reg Suter being a friend of the big lad, who has agreed to appear as a gesture of support. Four young singers chosen by Sir Edward Downes will take part, and the pianist is Nina Walker.
