For a week in July, the Ways With Words Literary Festival takes place at Dartington Hall: with its medieval buildings, beautiful grounds, woodland and river walks. A busy schedule of workshops, discussions and talks covers science, philosophy, ecology, the craft of writing, psychology and history . Kate Adie fires the festival's opening salvo with 'War Words'; the McLibel trial is discussed by John Vidal, Helen Nicoll gives an illustrated talk on Sissinghurst, and Valerie Belsay celebrates English green lanes. Claire Tomalin considers whether novels truly reflect the life of their author and Susie Orbach reflects on 20 years of Fat is a Feminist Issue. Plus much, much more - send for a brochure now.
