Microsoft chairman and philanthropist Bill Gates was the guest speaker at the May 10 annual fundraising breakfast of Climate Solutions, a non-profit environmental organization based in northwestern USA. 

Climate Solutions ( http://climatesolutions.org) is a regional organization in the northwestern state of Washington (also the state that is home to Microsoft's corporate headquarters) that aims to tackle the global problem of climate change. Bill Gates has previously spoken strongly on the issue of climate change and the role technology has to play in finding a solution to this issue.

Throughout the speech, the Microsoft chairman made numerous references to the need to improve energy efficiency and outlined the need for the United States to cooperate with China in finding a solution to climate change.

The speech was streamed live via environmental website Grist and has been archived and made available to watch via www.grist.org.
