Eco-friendly Japanese website and others outline how to help survivors

Environmentally conscious Japanese website
http://greenz.jp outlined earlier this week several easy ways in which concerned people around the world can help those affected by the recent events in the country. Several other environmentally conscious websites have also shown their support for the relief efforts.

The Tokyo-based website greenz.jp was launched in English in 2007 and was one of the first bilingual internet sources in Japan dedicated to promoting an environmentally sustainable economy and lifestyle.

On March 16 the website posted a request for help from people around the world; greenz.jp suggest people could either make donations or buy charity goods.

Some of the organizations the website suggests people donate to are:

The Red Cross

Doctors Without Borders

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund

Greenz.jp also suggests that people can buy charity goods such as Lady Gaga's " We Pray For Japan" wristband.

The full list of charities provided by greenz.jp can be found on the greenz site.

Other environmentally conscious websites such as Ecosalon, Fuyume, care2.com and onegreenplanet.org are also encouraging their readers to support  relief efforts in Japan.

In particular ethical fashion site Fuyume lists a number of clothing stores which are raising money for various appeals at http://fuyume.net/?s=Japan, and onegreenplanet.com lists, amongst others, several animal charities working to save pets affected by the disaster.
