Four young seals from a group believed to be suffering from the early affects of the coming El Nino  , have been returned to the wild after treatment in Peru.

The three males and one female  were returned to an island just off the southern coast by ecologists, they had been found last month with illnesses such pneumonia, malnutrition and dehydration which scientists believe were caused by the rising temperatures caused by the global "El Nino".

El Nino is the natural phenomena that causes the warming of the pacific ocean , however in combination with the greenhouse gases currently in the atmosphere many scientists believe this could result in scorching temperatures in the southern pacific region in the next few months.
