Pciture of the day: A clean-up for banks of the Thames

Hundreds of volunteers give the banks of the Thames in west London a deep clean yesterday, to mark the lowest daytime tides of 2011.
The event at Putney and Chiswick was organised by Thames21, an environmental charity with 8,000 volunteers.
