Choose a box containing just salad, potatoes or apples, or alternatively a mixed box of fruit or vegetables. Most products are sourced in the Welsh marches with local apples and pears when in season. 3. Old Granary Organics Offering mostly produce from the UK - south Hereford in particular - Old Granary has five box sizes ranging in price from £17 to £25. Bread, eggs, olive oil and orange juice are extras and they provide recipe ideas based on the ingredients in the box each week. The business is small and personal, so you can ask them to leave out any vegetable varieties you may not like.

Packed one day and delivered the next, the boxes contain staples and exotics, roots and salads and 85 per cent of the produce comes from South Devon. This Cambridgeshire-based company grows the majority of its produce on its own farm and what it can't grow it sources from local growers and small co-operatives in Spain and France. Its boxes of vegetables and fruit start at £7.50 for a value box and £13.50 will get you a standard box. They also provide tips and recipes for unusual vegetables when in season.
