Lighting is tricky; it can make a real difference to the room but it can be hard to find a lamp that inspires. We’ve found eye-catching and interesting pieces that we think will help transform – as well as illuminate —a space.  And striking doesn’t have to mean spending hundreds. Here’s our pick, from George’s £10 monochrome number up to Graham & Green’s geometric-print Durry lamp, none will set you back more than £200.

Verdict:

For something really different, try TOBYhouse’s inflatable beach ball lamp or Seletti’s innovative light in a bottle. If you’re after a piece that’s more conventional-looking, but has an unusual edge, we love Cox & Cox’s light with an on-trend concrete base. Anyone on a budget should try Habitat for stylish, ultra-modern pieces that are much less expensive than they look.
