No sweat: 10 best running tops

Quick 5km round the block or a marathon effort?  Either way, we’ve found gear that will help you follow  in Mo Farah’s footsteps. Maybe…

Come Sunday 14 April, over 37,000 runners will hit the streets of the capital for the Virgin Money London Marathon. While we may not all be able to make it round 26.2 miles, we can still take inspiration and get out for a jog.

Running in the warmer months means sweating is inevitable. That’s where tops made from technical fabrics come into their own; they will wick away sweat, dry quickly and hopefully not leave you too pongy. We’ve selected a range of vests, tees and jackets – for when the weather’s not playing ball – to kick start your training. From Aldi’s current running “Specialbuy” to Asics innovative Inner Muscle range, there’s something for all runners’ budgets.

Verdict:

If you’re new to running or don’t want to spend too much on gear, H&M’s a good place to start. Their affordable kit looks good and will do you just as well for the gym. Men looking for a top they can wear for all their sporting endeavours that will keep them cool this summer should give Adidas’s Climachill tee a spin.
