Heads or Tails: Win £10,000 with The Independent print edition

Heads or Tails returns today, offering readers the chance to win £10,000. We’ve teamed up with Jeeves – who is back by popular demand at Ask Jeeves with lots more answers to help make your life better – giving you an even better chance to win this week’s prize. Each day, we ask you to use your judgment to decide whether a certain index (for instance shares) will rise or fall. Simply text your answer and if you’re right, you’re still in the game. And so it continues on a daily basis until Friday. Then, if you’re still standing and get closest to the final answer you’ll scoop first prize. Now you can start playing game 9 with a new question. Remember, there can be only one winner. And it could be you - so good luck!

How to play

Each day in The Independent, you will be asked a question. To be in with a chance of winning the game, your task is to SMS five correct answers to five questions over the course of the week. Question 1 is printed below. You must text your entry before the competition entry deadline of 2.30pm on Monday 20 April 2009.

If you think it will be the same or higher, your answer should be HIGHER. If you think it will be lower, your answer should be LOWER.

To enter, just text the keyword GAME followed by a space followed by either HIGHER or LOWER and the last three digits on the bottom row of the barcode in your copy of The Independent. Then send it to 85010 before 2.30pm on Monday 20 April 2009. [Texts are charged at your usual mobile network rates.

You must get the answer right to stay in the game. You will be notified by text by 7am on Tuesday morning if you have got the answer right and you are still in the game. The second question will then be printed in Tuesday’s paper – make sure you get your copy to stay in the game. The final question next Friday, will demand a numerical answer. The nearest person to the exact figure will take away the fabulous first prize.

Tuesday 21 April: The share price of Domino’s Pizza closed at 219.25p on Monday. Will the shares close higher or lower at the end of trading on Tuesday? * Answer was higher.

Wednesday 22 April: The pound closed at €1.1334 against the euro on Tuesday. Will the pound close higher or lower against the euro at the end of Wednesday's trading? * Answer was lower.

Thursday 23 April: The share price of Next closed at 1435p on Wednesday. Will the shares close higher or lower at the end of trading on Thursday? * Answer was higher.

Friday 24 April: Due to an error in Friday's paper, we have asked you to guess higher or lower for the final question. You are actually required to provide a numerical answer to Friday's question: Tesco shares closed at 357p on Thursday night. What will the company's closing share price be at the end of trading on Friday? * Answer was 355.40.
