Terms & Conditions
1. This subscription service is available to UK residents only.
2. Subscriptions to The Independent are subject to an initial minimum sign up period of 24 weeks. If paying by Direct Debit they are on an indefinite basis and we require 4 weeks notice before your next 24 week period starts if you wish to cancel.
3. If you sign up to the Monday to Sunday subscription service or the Monday to Saturday service, The Independent will give you a free year’s subscription to one of the following magazines of your choice; Grazia, FHM, Q or Empire (see further down for the Terms and Conditions relating to this offer)
4. There are three different types of Independent voucher subscriptions. These are: Seven days a week (Monday to Sunday) at £5 per week (£120 for 24 weeks); Six days a week (Monday to Saturday) at £4.50 per week (£108 for 24 weeks).
5. Subscriptions for The Independent newspaper are in the form of vouchers and we can either send vouchers direct to your local participating newsagent or send you sheets of vouchers to redeem at any participating newsagent.
6. Vouchers are only accepted at participating newsagents. The Independent cannot provide customers with details of participating newsagents.
7. The cost of the voucher subscription does not cover the cost of delivery of any newspapers. This must be arranged and paid for separately by the customer with their newsagent.
8. Your subscription starts on a Monday 10 working days from the date of order.
9. You will be allowed to take up to 3 weeks (21 days) of holidays.
10. If paying by card or cheque then your vouchers will be dated so that they last for a 27 week period.
11. If paying by Direct Debit then vouchers can be returned to us and a refund will be returned to you by cheque within 10 working days. To claim for holidays when paying by Direct Debit please return any unused vouchers in the freepost envelope to Independent Subscriptions, Freepost, NAT 8584, PO Box 104, SY8 1ZA. If you are on a 7 day subscription refunds will be 71p per day. If you are on 6 day subscriptions refunds will be 75p per day. And, £1.40 per day for weekend subscriptions.
12. Vouchers are not transferable and only valid in the UK. They cannot be accepted in lieu of payment for any other article.

14. In order to set up a Direct Debit or card payment you need to be the signatory on the account/cardholder and have your bank account or card details to hand.
15. All payments will be charged to Bookshop Partnership Ltd.

Terms & Conditions – magazine subscription
1. The Independent will give you a year’s free subscription to one of the following magazines when you take up The Independent newspaper subscription Monday to Sunday or Monday to Saturday offer; Grazia, FHM, Q or Empire
2. The magazine subscription will start with the next available issue, which may be up to 6 weeks after order details are received by Bauer Media.
3. To notify us of any changes to your address, please call customer services on 0800 783 1920 or send a letter to Independent subscriptions, PO Box104, Ludlow SY8 1YB and quote BAUER.
4. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
5. Bauer Media will process your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and may, at times, contact you with regard to other offers or promotions that we believe will be of interest to you.
Offensive or abusive comments will be removed and your IP logged and may be used to prevent further submission. In submitting a comment to the site, you agree to be bound by the Independent Minds Terms of Service.
