There are two many stories about Oasis scions Liam and Noel Gallagher to go into. But one of our favourite fables has it that during the recording of What's the Story Morning Glory? a row about whether crew members should go to the pub resulted in Noel walloping Liam in the head with a cricket bat while Liam broke his brother's foot. Oh and in 2011 Liam took Noel to court over what he claims are "lies" about the band's break-up in 2009.

The sibling rivalry continues?

Indeed, and the latest episode in the long Gallagher saga is a true Cain and Abel parable. Except in this case, rather than become offended by Abel opening up a monopoly on the good Lord's blessing, Cain was a bit sick of him promoting his new celebrity fashion range and ranted his displeasure at the press.

Did Liam forget to send Noel free samples?

It's a little more complex. Liam is taking Noel to court over what he claims are "lies" about the band's break-up in 2009. Noel said that during the last tour, Liam demanded that his clothing brand Pretty Green be advertised in the tour programme. As a hardened non-conformist, the elder Gallagher was furious. Noel continued bashing his brother, saying that Liam's no-show at V Festival in Chelmsford was not due to a reported bout of laryngitis, but because he was suffering a hangover. Liam has now issued a High Court writ against his brother. "What Noel has alleged this time went way beyond rock-and-roll banter and questioned my professionalism," he complained.

How very un-rock 'n' roll

It's certainly a far cry from their younger days. During the recording of What's the Story Morning Glory? a row about whether crew members should go to the pub. Noel walloped Liam in the head with a cricket bat and Liam broke his brother's foot.

How will this be resolved?

There's no denying that Liam's history with the band doesn't render Noel's statements totally unrealistic. But if the brothers don't agree on something soon, the next time they talk could be across a very crowded courtroom.
