US tycoon Donald Trump is to bankroll an anti-wind farm campaign in his fight against an off-shore development near his luxury golf resort.
Mr Trump wrote to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond earlier this month, telling him he seems "hell-bent on destroying Scotland's coastline" after a planning application for a wind farm near Mr Trump's Menie resort, was submitted last summer. Mr Trump, who has described the turbines as "ugly monstrosities", has halted work on his development until a decision is made.
Communities Against Turbines Scotland contacted the Trump Organisation after the letter to Mr Salmond was published and they have now joined forces.
But Dan Barlow, of environmental group WWF Scotland, said: "Donald Trump's efforts to undermine Scotland's renewables ambitions are misguided."Reuse content
