Boot Düsseldorf: boat show
Boot Dusseldorf is renowed for being the world's largest and most important show. Over 1,550 exhibitors will attend to display some 1,700 boats and yachts. Features include dedicated hall for diving fans and an exhibit showcasing "trendy sports" such as stand-up paddling, winch waking, skimboarding, kiteboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, and water-skiing.
Haute Couture Paris
The world's leading haute couture week, which was once reserved for dramatic fashion shows presenting out-of-this-world creations by designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, or Chanel, will for the first time include jewelry presentations by some of the field's most prestigious brands such as Boucheron, Cartier, Chaumet, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Some presentations start on Sunday the 24th, however the official opening date is the 25th.
Van Gogh's letters exhibition
January 23-April 18
Previously seen in Amsterdam under the title Van Gogh's letters, The Real Van Gogh opening in the Royal Academy of Arts in London shows 120 original and rare letters alongside the works that Van Gogh was writing about. The combination of more than 340 works, including paintings, drawings, letters and letter sketches offers a different view of Van Gogh as letter writer and as artist.
Screen Actors Guild Awards
Los Angeles, USA
Before the Academy Awards, the SAG awards are often viewed as a key barometer of which films may go on to challenge for honors at the Oscars, which will take place at Hollywood's Kodak Theater on March 7. These awards also honor television series and actors.
January 24 & 25
Six hundred national and international designers will gather for the fair's 28th edition that will again present the most cutting-edge design in urban and avant-garde fashion.
