Never shy to make a controversial comment, "Bigmouth Strikes Again" singer Morrissey has claimed that “homosexual men would never kill other men”.

The 53-year-old singer, made his claims in an interview with an online magazine for teenage girls. While discussing war, he suggested that if there were more gay men, there would be fewer wars.

"War, I thought, was the most negative aspect of male heterosexuality,” he said. “If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love killing other men.”

"They even get medals for it,” he added to rookiemag.com. “Women don't go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies."

The former frontman with The Smiths, also had some comments for some of the most popular stars of the day.

"Whether it be Beyoncé or Justin Bieber, we see singers who have absolutely nothing to offer anyone as they walk off stage clutching three Grammys in each hand,” he said, also criticising Madonna’s approach to fans.

“In recent years I saw McDonna live, and no audience member reached up toward her to try to touch her. I see this so often with artists whom we’re told are global stars. It is a big lie.”

Morrissey is no stranger to controversy, having repeatedly and publicly criticised fellow singers such as Elton John, is an outspoken critic of the royal family and once admitted that he almost voted UKIP.

His anti-meat comments have attracted some of the most attention, however. He has called the Chinese a “subspecies” for their treatment of animals and claimed that the 2011 massacre of 97 people in Norway was, "Nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried shit every day."
