Tuesday and Wednesday selection: a robot exhibition in Tokyo, World Design Capital 2012 announced in Singapore, Mecca welcomes Hajj pilgrims.

Robots of the future

A showcase for all the weird and wonderful robots that inventors in Japan and around the world can create and it is also a show to provide a place to exhibit robots and related equipments in order to enhance market awareness of new technology. Approximately 104,000 visitors attended the previous edition in 2007, when 200 companies (39 from abroad) exhibited their new gadgets.

World Design Congress: Design Capital 2012 announced

Singapore

During the World Design Congress in Singapore, Helsinki or Eindhoven will be designated World Design Capital 2012. The jury's final decision will be announced during the Congress on November 25. The World Design Capital is a biennial designation. Seoul (South Korea) will carry the name next year, following Turin (Italy) in 2008.
