Monday's selection: Fashion Week in Tokyo and Toronto, plus a retrospective in Paris on influential Belgian painter James Ensor.

Toronto Fashion Week

Having announced a location move to the city's King West area in order to make space for more exhibiting brands, Toronto Fashion Week -- known for a more commercial, laid-back approach to fashion -- will host Barbie and department store Holt Renfrew events this season as well as a screening of Vogue documentary, The September Issue.

Japan Fashion Week
October 19-25
Tokyo/Japan

It is only the ninth edition of Japanese fashion week, but already, the event enjoys the acclaim of the international community. This season, there will be a collective of Danish designers exhibiting (among them Peter Jensen and Noir/Bllack Noir) as well as the most successful labels of the country such as House of the very Island.

James Ensor exhibition in Paris
October 19-February 4

Known for his influence on the 20th Century Expressionists, the exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris on Belgian artist James Ensor gathers 90 of the artist's prints, paintings and drawings, ranging from tiny prints to large-scale paintings.
