Halloween
October 31
USA and certain Western countries

Halloween was originally a celebration tracing back to a Celtic festival, Samhain, but morphed into a day of costumes and candies, with more secular fun than remembering relatives who have passed away, which is relegated to All Soul's Day on November 1. The US celebration was imported with a wave of Irish immigration a century ago.
