The fourth annual BET Hip-Hop Awards enlists American comedian Mike Epps to host the festivities, which honor overall excellence in hip-hop culture. The BET Hip-Hop Awards have thus far managed to avoid the troubles associated with previous hip-hop awards ceremonies like the Source Awards and the Vibe Awards, both currently defunct.
Henri-Charles Boulle retrospective in Frankfurt

More than 150 works of André-Charles Boulle (1642-1732), Louis the XIVth's acclaimed cabinetmaker, are to be displayed in Frankfurt in the first major retrospective dedicated to the French master craftsman. Boulle was so influential that he gave his name to a technique called boulle, or buhl work, that swept Europe and was heavily imitated during the 18th and 19th centuries.

A three-day music festival capitalizing on the mystic vibe of New Orleans, Louisiana, during Halloween weekend. The Voodoo Experience has been mixing and matching major performers from a variety of music genres since 1999. Headlining the Voodoo Experience this year are American rock bands Jane's Addiction and Kiss, with American rapper Eminem in his only live performance for 2009.
Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival

Part of the Food and Wine Year celebrations launched in April, the highlights of the festival include the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival, from October 30 to November 1 at the harbor-side West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, and a Wine and Dine Carnival at the dining and bar districts of Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo in the center of Hong Kong Island from November 6 to 8.
100% Design Tokyo

Focusing on bringing contemporary design to the mainstream, 100% Design Tokyo is the Japanese equivalent of the London event started back in 1995. Close to 100,000 visitors are expected at this year's fair.
USA and certain Western countries

The US celebration was imported with a wave of Irish immigration a century ago.

Under the motto of "Hello Kitty Colors," the famous Japanese cartoon cat fetes its 35th anniversary. Celebrations already started in September, when specially themed collections hit Hello Kitty stores worldwide. November will see even more product launches (apparel, jewelry, collectibles), special offers and events.
