The new exhibition shown at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam offers a view of Van Gogh (1853-1890) as letter writer and artist, featuring over 800 original manuscripts of his letters, containing rare sketches of works. This exhibition will travel to the Royal Academy of Arts in London in January 2010.

Silk Road Arts Festival

Celebrating the legendary trading route that brought East and West together, the Silk Road Arts Festival offers dance, theater performances as well as exhibitions, opening with Splendours of the Tang Dynasty, a collection of songs and dance by the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theatre. A "series of exotic concerts from Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East'' follows, with renowned musicians from Iran, India, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan. http://www.silkroadfestival.gov.hk
23rd Macao International Music Festival

A double celebration this year - the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic and the 10th anniversary of the return of Macau to Chinese control - is being marked with a celebration of China's musical history at various venues, including performances of its most famous concerto, The Butterfly Lovers by the Macau Orchestra.
