I've been pleasantly surprised and have enjoyed focusing on the fitness and nutrition. It's not a chore and the diet's realistic - we're even allowed the odd day off.

I've been pleasantly surprised and have enjoyed focusing on the fitness and nutrition. It's not a chore and the diet's realistic - we're even allowed the odd day off.

My main change is to move starchy carbs to the beginning of the day and up my protein intake significantly. I'm looking forward to my big steak on Sunday. I'm also having more carefully thought-out snacks, like yoghurt and nuts. I expect the move towards meat, fish and eggs may up the price of our shopping basket a little, but it's nothing exotic or difficult to obtain.

We do the stretches together after our son's gone to bed. It's early days but my energy level's high and the strength exercises make me ache just enough to know I've done them.
