Matt Lovell: Sarah is struggling a bit through the middle stages of the detox. Avoidance of wheat, dairy and alcohol has not been too much of a problem – although Sarah is missing a glass of wine with dinner at the weekend.
It's common to experience some lacklustre symptoms for a day or two whilst on the detox. The body will be craving substances it has become addicted to. Fortunately the skies do clear after this period so it's really worth sticking to.
During the Christmas period Sarah lost 2.2lbs of fat, whilst maintaining muscle mass – she can expect better results at the end of the detox. Snacking regularly on protein, even when not hungry, helps to preserve muscle mass during this time.
