If you shell out the annual £79 ($99) fee to be an Amazon Prime member, you can now get “free” samples.

The online shopping mecca has introduced a new program designed for Prime members, called Prime Samples, and it means online shopping just got a whole lot easier - and more fun.

Exclusively for Prime subscribers, Prime Samples lets shoppers order sample sizes of full-size items from a number of categories - and you can order as many as you want.

Technically, the samples aren’t free - as they do cost around £1.43 to £2.87 ($2 to $4) each. But, this money is then taken off a full-size product of the same category if you decide to purchase, so it's a good deal.

So if you didn’t like a sample, but are still in the market for a new shampoo, the $2 you spent on the sample will be used to any full-size shampoo.

There is no limit on samples, although you can never order the same sample twice.

Categories include beverages and food, sports nutrition, beauty and grooming, baby, personal care and household, and vitamins and supplements.

From there, you can choose from interesting samples such as chicken broth, protein bars, and all sorts of moisturisers.

You can choose from hundreds of options (Amazon)

Prime Samples also gives shoppers the option of purchasing sample boxes - specially curated Prime boxes full of sample-size items. Options include boxes full of dog treats, women’s skin and hair care products, or luxury male grooming products. These cost a bit more money though, ranging from £5.74 to £14.35 ($8 to $20).

The best part? Because Amazon Prime members never pay for shipping, all samples will ship free.

You can order as many samples as you want

According to Amazon, Prime Samples will arrive 3-5 days after you order them - and credits will last 180 days before they expire.

So if you’re tired of reading reviews in order to find the best protein powder, or you just want to try powdered cheese, now you can try them out for yourself.
