Sleeping Around, Donmar Warehouse, London WC2 (0171-369 1732)

There was a point back there when Mark Ravenhill (above) was as famous for what he didn't write as what he did write. I refer to the phantom third series of This Life. Since that said series went the way of all flesh, Ravenhill has been busy elsewhere. Out of Joint, who produced his breakthrough play Shopping and Fucking, commissioned another, with the less controversial, but equally amusing title Handbag, and he's been busying himself as literary director of the newly revitalised Paines Plough, the touring new writing company who have had a new lease of life since the arrival of the estimable Vicky Featherstone as artistic director. Her latest production, Sleeping Around, produced in association with the surprisingly enlightened Salisbury Playhouse, is a succession of scenes creating a dramatic "sexual relay to produce an emotional and spiritual census of the nation in 1998". The writers? Hilary Fanin, Stephen Greenhorn, Abi Morgan and, yes, Ravenhill.
