Cast your mind back to a time when the country's best nights occurred in open fields. A comprehensive road map was an essential accessory and the word "rave" was still cutting edge. Now that clubbing has for the most part gone legitimate, few events capture that special vibe.
"World Dance" is one team of promoters guaranteed to blend the best of the old with state-of-the-art 1990s technology. "The Big Bang" will unite 5,000 revellers tonight for 12 hours of Halloween debauchery. An added bonus is that it's legal and there's no mud.
Mickey Finn and Grooverider headline in the drum 'n' bass arena, while Slipmatt kicks off in the hardcore area. Meanwhile, arena 3 showcases house and trance vibes; Jeremy Healy and Graham Gold feature. Arena 4 houses old skool tunes, while arena 5 boasts a much needed chill-out zone. The Victorian studio complex has recently been restored to its former glory; how it will look after 12 hours and 5,000 people is anybody's guess.
