United Nations "blue helmets" clear mines from one of Cambodia's historic ruins. Cambodia has lived through several troubled decades since gaining independence from France in 1953. With the death last year of Pol Pot and the defection of thousands of Khmer Rouge guerrillas, hopes of peace are higher now than for a generation.
