Competition: The story of the year
CHILDREN need stories. Stories that stretch their imagination, liberate them into the realms of fantasy, and introduce them to the lifelong pleasure of good books. To encourage the best writers, the Independent, in conjunction with Scholastic Children's Books, is launching a competition. The winner will receive pounds 2,000 for their story, which will be published in the Independent, and Scholastic will produce a special collection of the best entries. Read Wednesday's Living page to find out how to enter, and what some very interesting people loved reading when they were little.
