JOE IS 25 and has got to know a delightful girl, Amina, who is on a visit from Nigeria. She is a friend of his sister and has stayed at their home. She soon begins to feel like a member of the family. She is an orphan and a talented musician but has no way of carrying on her education in Nigeria. All that awaits her there is poverty. Joe confides in a friend, who suggests he marries her so she can stay in Britain. The friend can explain what should be said to the Home Office and says that Joe could divorce her later. Joe wants to help, but he is nervous about taking such a step. What should he do?
