Got ... inside the interiors of painter John Monks. These vibrant and vivacious oil paintings combine representation with a fluidity of application akin to that of Francis Bacon. Although there aren't people in the rooms, they are alive with reminders of activity: a book here, a glove there. The ferocity and textures of the oil paintings demand first- hand viewing. To 4 April at Beaux Arts, 22 Cork Street, London W1X 1HB (0171-437 5799).

Following their recent sold-out UK tour, they are back to treat either those remembering teenage moshing, or popsters who have enough nous to appreciate their wicked amalgamation of traditional instruments and modern music. Tonight at Cambridge Corn Exchange (01223 357 851), Winter Gardens, Margate (10 March), Guildhall, Portsmouth (11 March) and Shepherd's Bush Empire, London (14 March). Tickets pounds 11-pounds 12.
