Or let your goose be got at the Nottingham Goose Fair. Previous attractions have included a seven-foot goose. But expect more than giant geese in the 703rd year of the festival, with attractions such as a traditional fair with over 100 rides, 225 games stalls and a further 400 stalls.
Classical music is arriving from Russia today with the Russian State Symphony Orchestra beginning their nationwide tour at Colston Hall, Bristol. Fire Under the Snow sounds contrary, but it becomes clear why this is as the title for Buddhist monk Palden Gyatso's talk about his 33 years of incarceration in Chinese prisons. Or for some good karma, try out the free club night, Pretzel Logic at The Junction, Brixton. If it is anything like the rest of Brixton club nights (check out 414, Coldharbour Lane and The Fridge), the mix is going to be interesting. For some funk, disco, a lot of soul and some House beats at the hands of DJ Glen Gunner (Street Corner Symphony) and Andy Williams (Nuphonic). Also featuring live sax from Rob (Funk Against Junk) and freestyle live moog action by Andy Williams.
The Junction, 242 Coldharbour Lane, SW9.
