Hold on to your credit cards, ladies, this week sees the launch of shopping apps by Yoox, Rue La La, and Mango that will make it easy to update your wardrobe wherever you are. Plus: MAC has launched a mobile site!


The Spanish retailer's new iPhone app gives you everything from store locator to the collections, sharing your favorites with friends, virtually combining your own wardrobe with Mango items, and exclusive discounts for users. You will also find styling tutorials from whatshouldiwearbymango.com and a feed from the chain's blog, keepthebeat.mango.com. The app is available in four languages.


Rue La La

The sample sale site has launched apps for the iPhone and iPad to go with its mobile website, m.ruelala.com. To celebrate the launch, Rue La La will be giving away one iPad and a $500 shopping voucher every day through June 6.



The cosmetics brand has launched a mobile website, accessible on the mobile device of your choice, allowing you to shop products and watch how-to videos on the go. A store locator is also part of the offering.


Glamour Ask a Stylist

There are countless styling advice apps on iTunes but this one links you to professional stylists in real time: US Glamour has partnered with shopping website Like.com to respond to your outfit questions in minutes. All you have to do is take a picture of the outfit you're unsure about, submit it to a Glamour stylist of your choice, and tell them what occasion you're planning to wear it at.



The magazine has teamed up with Swarovski Crystal Palace for a free app to get the publication's content from wallpaper.com onto your iPhone: art, fashion, travel, architecture and technology are all part of the coverage in the daily edit that comes with extensive picture galleries and videos from design events and fashion shows.



iPad apps:


With the shopping site's new app, you can shop all over the world, buy presents and have them delivered, create a wish list of your favourite products, and share your choices with your friends.


Letter to Jane magazine

Designed specifically for the iPad, this new magazine makes a triumphant debut with contributions from Yoko Ono, Hedi Slimane, and the Band of Outsiders. Selling for just $0.99, the 'zine is set to become a must-read for the style-loving.


Norma Kamali swimwear

As part of the Interview app (below), designer Norma Kamali has launched an interactive ad for her swimwear collections that can be browsed on the iPad as well as shared with your friends.

Many reviewers are claiming that the shopping experience is more graphical, seamless, and all in all more enjoyable than on the auctioner's website. Comes with integrated access to your personal eBay account.
