From candles that melt into lotions to fragrance collections inspired by Victorian social clubs, the beauty products awarded at NYGF's EX.TRACTS beauty exhibition are sure to surprise even the savviest of beauty geeks.

The top prize in the bath and body category was taken by Illume's Ginger & Sea Salt Lotion Candle, a blend of shea butter, olive oil and soy that creates a rich lotion as it melts, followed by Caswell-Massey's Onyx Natural Bath Soap and FarmhouseFresh's Hello! Yellow body cream.

In beauty accessories, Ecoya's hypo-allergenic Body Nourisher Vanilla Bean came in first, with Baudelaire's sponge boxes and the UNII Cosmetics coal palette taking second and third prize.

Royal Apothic proved that scent collections are big in perfumes right now, winning in the cosmetics and fragrance section with its Society of Scents inspired by social clubs of England's Victorian Age. Runners-up were Sonoma Lavender's Ocean Air Sachet-By-The-Yard and Jao's Outscent perfume with insect repellant.

Care about the eco-friendliness of your products? Then take good note of Lotus Love Beauty's Soy Wax Travel Tin Candle, which led the pack in natural and organic cosmetics, as well as finalists Ton Savon's Pure Provence Moroccan Organic Soap and Bare Kiss Skincare's Deep Sea Soap.

Simpatico-Home, Xela Aroma, and Aquiesse received awards for their product packaging, while Tatine's Foundry scented candle collection won "best of show."

EX.TRACTS, one of ten divisions of the New York International Gift Fair, runs through February 3 at the city's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
