The reality TV star hits the catwalk at New York Fashion Week

Kendall Jenner of Keeping up with the Kardashians fame is successfully spreading her wings and breaking into the fashion industry with a burgeoning modelling career.

New York Fashion Week, which began last week, has cemented her newfound career as she has walked the catwalk of some of the biggest shows, including Diane Von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger.

With many runway appearances and advertising campaigns under her belt, she’s shaping up to be USA’s answer to Cara Delevingne.

She began her fashion career at the tender age of 14 -like Kate Moss- by fronting numerous campaigns for American high-street brands such as Forever 21, Luca Couture and Nordstrom. However, from reality TV branding she has managed to shake off her Kardashian roots and successfully rebrand herself as a high-end model.

In 2010 she was in the issue of Teen Vogue and in Paper Magazine alongside her younger sister Kylie Jenner, and in 2012 they were both on the cover of Teen Vogue. But it was Kendall who dreamed of a fashion career.

She made her mark on the fashion industry back in February at the autumn/winter 2015 shows of the likes of Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Giles, making an impressive debut catwalk season across New York, London and Paris.

Following her successful catwalk debut, she then starred on the cover of Love magazine’s latest biannual issue, scored two Teen Vogue covers for their September issue, a Paris Vogue editorial, Givenchy’s autumn campaign and got a spot at the most eagerly anticipated Haute Couture fashion shows.

Most recently, she made her first ever appearance in American Vogue’s September issue, the biggest of the year, where she was featured not in her capacity as a member of America’s most famous family, but just like any other model.

Here are a list of little known facts about the up and coming model:

It’s just Kendall– you know, like Madonna or Cher

She made the decision to drop her surname, Jenner, hoping to establish her name in the fashion industry for her work, rather than her family affairs.

Her middle name is Nicole after Nicole Brown Simpson, OJ Simpson’s murdered wife

Kendall’s mum, Kris Jenner, was best friends with the late actress, and even wrote a memoir about her.

She was named after a Ken doll

Her unusual name was created by her parents Bruce and Kris Jenner, and was curiously inspired by Barbie’s male companion.

She has nine siblings

Her younger sister is Kylie Jenner. On her mother’s side, she’s related to the Kardashian sisters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and brother Robert. On her father’s side she has Burton, Brandon, Brody and Casey Jenner.

She allegedly dated Harry Styles

Rumours emerged in 2013 suggesting that she was dating the One Direction star, but the duo apparently broke up in February 2014.

She’s big fan of Miley Cyrus’ style

A questionable style idol for most, but Cyrus is Jenner’s wardrobe inspiration. Why? Unfortunately Jenner hasn’t/couldn’t specify exactly what part of Cyrus’ bodycon-focused wardrobe she likes the most.

Kendall Jenner likes cheerleading

In keeping with her all-American persona, Kendall and sister Kylie Jenner were cheerleaders at high school.
