Hat-wearing is a tricky business. Whether you’re choosing a floppy straw sun hat, a smart formal number or a casual cover-your-bad-hair-day comfort hat, there are a number of pitfalls to watch out for.

If you’re planning a hat purchase in readiness for Ascot, a wedding or anything else requiring the formal glamour of a face veil and a jaunty corsage, then the talent at Kensington and Chelsea College’s award winning millinery department might be able to provide you with a few pointers.

A bunch of the college's budding Philip Treacys will be showcased at a five day exhibition opening next Monday that Hortensia Gallery in London. A vast array of complex, classical and innovative design will be on show, and the student designs are available to purchase.
