YSL's newest foundation was released last month with quite the fanfare, but is it worth splashing the cash?

New beauty products are released on an almost daily basis, so when something sparks a 12,000 strong waiting list, it must be worth further investigation.

Finding a foundation that fits your skin-type is an ongoing battle. Skin is as individual as personalities, so a formula that works for your skin type and desired finish is worth its weight in gold.

This particular foundation is targeted at those who want coverage and staying power from their foundation. Whilst the staying power is impressive - it does indeed last a full day on the face, it's really the texture and finish that sets this product apart from the rest.

The first thing you'll notice when you go to use the foundation is its texture; lightweight and silky it glides onto skin. This is due to the special formula of oils it contains that evaporate on contact with the skin, leaving only the coloured pigment behind.

The other remarkable thing about Fusion Ink is the finish. Your skin - provided you've got the shade right will have a radiance to it. And for those with oilier complexions it leaves a matte finish that doesn't look powdery - quite a feat!

The buzz that surrounds this foundation is well deserved; for skin on the oiler side and in need of good coverage this will instantly become a hero product.
