Jimmy Choo widens reach with first fragrance

After announcing a collaboration with Swedish retailer H&M, which will debut later this year, the president of shoe brand Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon, has announced the launch of her first fragrance next year.

Jimmy Choo had first released plans to create a perfume in 2007; back then, word was that the brand had partnered with Selective Beauty to produce and distribute the fragrance.

Not much was published on the matter in the meantime, but now the brand says business is underway, although with another partner: Inter Parfums. And this time it seems to be serious -- the contract between the two companies will be valid for 12 years starting in January.

"It has always been my vision to fully accessorize the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe," Mellon commented in a press release.

More details on the nature of the scent as well as pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
