'The Blake' might be the new it-haircut for girls, but boys want 'The Bieber.'

According to the New York Times, the side-swept hairstyle made famous by teen star Justin Bieber is sweeping kids' hair salons.

Cozy Friedman, owner of Cozy's Cuts for Kids in Manhattan, told the paper that most boys were "embarrassed" to mention his name - "He's a teen heartthrob girls love; they don't want to be associated with that." - yet, more than half of the boys aged 10 or older walking into her salon request the same thing: a haircut with long bangs, combed to the side.

Some are more straight-forward, showing the salon's stylists pictures of Bieber, saying: "That's what I want - don't tell my mom."

The Times also points out that a video of Bieber blowdrying his hair has attracted a record number of views on YouTube, while in another clip, a four-year-old boy can be seen asking his sister whether his hair looks like Justin Bieber's.

It was the same paper that identified the Blake Lively hair craze in New York earlier this year. 'The Blake,' the successor of 'The Rachel' - Jennifer Aniston's character on Friends - produces almost more than one million search results on Google.
