Justin cuts off the Bieber, sells locks for charity
Tuesday 22 February 2011
Pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, whose haircut - known as The Bieber - became as iconic to male teens as The Rachel was to female
Friends fans, has had his long locks chopped off in favor of a more "mature" style.
On February 21, Bieber tweeted: "Thinking about getting a haircut....hmmmmmm," but little did he know that Rascal Flatts band member Jay DeMarcus, with whom he was working on set on the video for their song "That Should Be Me," had already tweeted a picture of the star's newly short hair.
Quickly afterwards, DeMarcus deleted the photo from his Twitter account saying: "Ooooops! Sorry Bieber!!!!"
Entertainment site TMZ reports that Bieber "wanted to change it up" and that he thought the cut was "kind of a mature look."
The singer has tweeted in the meantime that the cut-off hair will be auctioned for charity, saying: "Yeah so it's true...i got a lil haircut...i like it...and we are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction. Details coming soon."
