May fashion store openings: Cavalli, Burberry, Kirkwood, and Vans

Here are the biggest international store launches that took place over the past month.

Roberto Cavalli
Cannes, France

The Italian 'King of Sexy' opened his first boutique in the glamorous town in the South of France during the Cannes Film Festival. A cocktail party saw appearances by models Elisabetta Canalis and Bar Refaeli as well as actress Rosario Dawson, while a more laid-back bash on Cavalli's yacht drew actress Brooke Shields, singer Solange Knowles and top model Alessandra Ambrosio.

Nicholas Kirkwood
London, UK

Almost as star-studded was the launch of London's currently most innovative shoe designer's first standalone store that attracted actress Freida Pinto, designer Roland Mouret, stylist Katie Grand, and many others. Located on the same street as the boutiques of Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, and Balenciaga, the new shopping destination features displays of Kirkwood's recent Keith Haring collection and a collaboration with crystal cutter Swarovski.
