Nars to open first stand-alone store
Tuesday 06 July 2010
Women's Wear Daily reports that François Nars is planning to launch his first boutique in November.
Nothing has yet been set into stone, but the beauty brand's owner told the paper that he could picture his first stand-alone outpost on New York's Bleecker Street, not far from his friend Marc Jacobs's store.
"I will do special items which will only be available in the store - palettes, maybe a nail polish called Bleecker Street - and I want to sell DVDs of my favorite movies. Marc may do accessories. It's going to be great," Nars told WWD.
But there's more news from Nars: socialite and fashion darling Daphne Guinness, who previously starred in the Akris handbag campaign, has been tapped to feature in the brand's new campaign. She takes over from Nars's bulldog Marcel, who had replaced the ads' usual model Amber Valletta to much amusement.
The campaign and products, including a new purple eyeshadow named after Guinness, will launch online on July 15.
Diving in at the deep end is no excuse for shirking the style stakes
