A new app could become for beauty what TripAdvisor is for travel, featuring reviews from real people.

Total Beauty

Including almost 300,000 independent product reviews from website totalbeauty.com, this free app tells you the truth on 45,000 beauty products including all major labels from Mac to Estée Lauder and Chanel. Search for specific products or browse items by categories or preference, e.g., 'curly hair' in shampoos.

My Style Fashion Assistant

Personal styling apps are springing up like mushrooms on iTunes, but more often than not, they can get annoying for trying to sell you more than you actually need or want. This new app, priced at $0.99, helps you organize your existing wardrobe, gives you suggestions for how to combine your items, and sends you a daily 'fashion fix' with helpful tips on successful dressing for every body type.

Fashion Bride

'Tis the season to get married, and announcements of exciting new bridal collaborations such as Vera Wang for David's Bridal in the US or other affordable new ranges such as J.Crew's wedding collection keep coming in. Fashion Bride ($0.99) is the perfect app to toy around with before the big day, with lots of fashion inspiration and possibilities to share your choices with your friends.

All you have to do is take a picture of the outfit you're unsure about, submit it to a Glamour stylist of your choice, and tell them what occasion you're planning to wear it at.
