Is it just that Barbie and Hello Kitty are celebrating their big birthdays this year or are women increasingly regressing into childhood in the face of the grim economic climate? Barbie has released yet another beauty collaboration, this time together with New Look.
After partnerships with MAC in 2007 and Stila this year, the new range for the clothes retailer is Barbie owner Mattel's most extensive yet. It not only comprising an eyes kit, bronzer, blusher and makeup palette but also a French manicure set, face mask, brush set, and fake eyelashes, which are proving especially popular among beauty bloggers.
To complete the range, New Look is throwing in a Barbie-themed trolley, a toilet bag, socks, and even a toy watch.
The announcement comes as part of the growing trend of clothes retailers introducing beauty lines. Also, the link between toys, fashion and beauty seems to be getting stronger.
All products cost under €10 (apart from the trolley which costs around €30) and are available online and in international New Look stores.
