Alexander Wang and Diane von Furstenberg have landed spots in TIME magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People.

The annual list published by the American magazine rounds up the 100 most influential people in the world.

For 2015, in the list which was published yesterday fashion designers Wang and von Furstenberg both were awarded a slot.

The prestigious list sees the fashion figures appear alongside world leaders, A-list Hollywood stars, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West amongst other leading figures.

Wang's entry is written by supermodel and friend of the designer Karlie Kloss.

"What I’ve seen him do in the past eight years is nothing short of remarkable. He is everywhere. His fashion shows are now some of the most hotly anticipated of Fashion Week. His name pops up in rap lyrics. He’s taken over as creative director at Balenciaga. Last year, he did a collection with H&M that flew off the shelves."

Von Furstenberg's entry is written by actress Jessica Alba.

"Diane’s life is certainly fantastic—the stuff of fairy tales, magazine covers and Warhol portraits. But let’s not forget: she made her own destiny. She is, and has proudly been, a working woman and mother."

This is not the first time fashion figures have been included within the list. Last year saw net-a-porter founder Natalie Massenet gain a place alongside model Christy Turlington and Celine creative director Phoebe Philo.

In 2013 Michael Kors and Jenna Lyons of J.Crew were awarded a spot.
