Burberry, th British fashion label known for its signature plaids and trenchcoats, has told Women's Wear Daily that it will release a whole new range of beauty products next year.

After successful fragrance launches such as The Beat, it seemed like a natural move: "It gives another dimension to the brand," Philippe Benacin, chairman and managing director of Burberry collaborator Inter Parfums SA told WWD.

The makeup launch, which is planned for July next year, will carry around 100 different color products for eyes, lips and skin that will retail at international upscale department stores.

Benacin's statement confirms rumors about a potential Burberry beauty range that circulated as early as February. Further details are yet to be confirmed.
