H&M has announced that the stars of this year’s Christmas TV campaign are Lady Gaga and jazz legend Tony Bennett.

The two superstars will perform a track from their joint album Cheek to Cheek in the brand’s festive TV campaign, which launches worldwide in November. Their album, which will be released on 23 September, is a collaboration between Gaga, 28, and Bennett 88, to celebrate jazz music. It brings together a present day icon with one of the legends of music - and could mark a stark departure from Gaga’s pop tunes.

The Bonkers dresser will appear with an enormous head of dark curly hair and the 17-times Grammy winner will be seen sporting a black sharp tuxedo.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, officially opened H&M’s Times Square flagship store in New York last year when fans queued for hours to meet Mother Monster.

An H&M’s spokesperson says she fits the bill for the jazzy campaign as she “bridges the worlds of music and fashion in everything she does” and as she continues her artRAVE: ARTPOP Ball Tour, she proves she still got the fashion factor.

However, Gaga is not the first singer to be featured in an H&M’s TV campaign. Lana Del Rey sang her track Blue Velvet for the Swedish retailer’s autumn 2012 campaign. Also, superstar Beyonce performed her song Standing On the Sun in the TV commercial for 2013 summer campaign, for which she created a full-on music video.

Earlier this year the Swedish brand showcased one of the many talents from the world’s highest-paid supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who performed an interpretation of Blondie’s Heart of Glass in a music video for H&M’s summer campaign this year, following her singing debut in September 2013 when she performed the cover of the Kinks’ song All Day and All Of The Night alongside DJ Bob Sinclair for the international chain.
