(Relaxnews) -

When Hollywood it-girl Lindsay Lohan, who designed Ungaro's spring/summer collection together with Estrella Archs, didn't appear at the label's runway show in Paris this fashion week, rumors surfaced that she had been ousted from the team - rumors she has now confirmed.

"I don't work for them anymore," Lohan told the press at the Kenzo show.

When asked about the reasons behind the decision, she added: "There's legal things going on; I can't really discuss it."

The brand's owner Asim Abdullah had told Women's Wear Daily before the Ungaro show that "she's not involved in this collection," meaning Archs was solely responsible for the fall/winter collection.

Her joint effort with Lohan was deemed a "disaster," even by the fashion house's namesake founder, but this most recent collection of tight and bright dresses also failed to impress, raising questions about Arch's design vision and her ability to make the clothes sell after her acclaimed forerunner, Esteban Cortezar, quit last year following an alleged row over Lohan's then-new designing role.

The label's publicity-hungry decision was greeted with dismay by the fashion world from the beginning, even though Ungaro's CEO Mounir Moufarrige - who has since stepped down - also hired Stella McCartney for Chloé in the 1990s, a controversial move at the time that then proved visionary.

Lohan is still designing for her own line, 6216, but her creations have been accused of being copied from young designers including James Lillis.
