Miley Cyrus has revealed her collaboration with American designer Jeremy Scott for his upcoming show during New York Fashion Week.

Last month Jeremy Scott intrigued fans after hinting he had teamed up with the controversial pop star. At the time he said it would involve “a group of cool kids, rather than models” and insisted she should be the one to announce it. Naturally fans assumed this would take the form of a performance at his upcoming New York Fashion Week show.

To the surprise of most, the singer has in fact made a series of artwork which is to be displayed at Scott’s show.

The show will present Cyrus’ latest venture, a collection of collaged sculptures entitled “Dirty Hippie”. She has said she put together everything she loves and made into “her art” using raver bracelets, sparkle-coated candy wrappers, dime bags and a five-foot bong.

Her artwork also includes a vibrator and a joint she got from fans. She told V Magazine: “I’ve gotten more and more about piling things on, but I try to put thought into everything.”

Cyrus explains that the artwork is mainly made of the things fans throw at the stage during her performance. She said: “Being on tour was a big part of this, too, because I picked up so much junk along the way.”

On collaborating with Scott, Cyrus said: “Jeremy brought a lot of peace and self-worth to me because even though to some people, it was just me gluing some things together, to me it made me not a f*cking pop star dumbass.”

Scott told V magazine: “We’re on the same wavelength – it’s like a psychedelic jungle.

“I love there’s a DIY feel to the sculptures, which is part of the look of the show. I want it to be less about a model army and more about a group of cool, individualised people hanging together.”

This, however, wouldn’t be the first time that Scott has worked with Cyrus. The American fashion designer made some of the costumes for the pop star’s Bangerz tour.

Jeremy Scott's New York Fashion Week show will take place on Wednesday 10 September.
